Workplace Security

With the increasing number of threats and sophistication of attacks and the prevalence of harmful substances sent through the U.S. Postal Service, FedEx or UPS, security leaders across all levels of the public and private sector must consider implementing robust threat detection and prevention procedures to mitigate these risks.

Workplace safety is a critical aspect of maintaining a secure and healthy environment for employees. In an era of political and social unrest, where threats against people and properties have become more commonplace, corporate and government leaders have a responsibility to take proactive security measures to protect their employees and their facilities from potential harm. ECS believes that workplace safety is a fundamental right for all employees and is the foundation on which our Logistics and Distribution Services Condition Assessment (LDSCA) solution is built. The LDSCA is focused on examining safety conditions and logistics security profiles where potentially harmful items may be received.

We conduct detailed threat assessments of loading dock and central receiving environments, mailrooms and lobby areas supported by employee CBRNE training and advice on X-ray scanning, glove box technologies that help in detection and prevention of suspicious items into your workplace. Our assessment program are designed to be a proactive security measure that meets the goal of ensuring that every person that arrives in a hospital, government facility, corporate headquarters or k-12 school or college campus has a safe and secure place to work.

Security Program Design

ECS offers custom tailored logistics security solutions and threat detection assessments utilizing best practices and cutting-edge technologies to solve clients' lesser-known, but critical security issues. We help your security leaders to design, build, and manage your core threat detection process for all logistics functions. We embed daily checklists into your business processes through online tools and AI technology to assist your frontline security staff in maintaining a safe intake environment. Our dedicated assessment team leverages numerous program tools, customized templates, best practices and insights to meet the specialized needs of the logistics and distribution services environment with a commitment to deliver security solutions that keep your leadership team, employees and occupants safe and secure as they work across your portfolio of properties.

Employee Training

We offer comprehensive training for your staff on how to recognize suspicious packages, complete with reviews of safety and security policy manuals and communications procedures. In addition, we conduct a needs analysis, and recommendations for threat detection systems like X-ray technologies and chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive (CBRNE) detectors, and clear protocols for facilities posters, checklists and procedures manuals for handling potentially dangerous mail and other items. Failure to take these precautions can result in severe consequences, from physical harm to employees to reputational damage and legal liabilities.

Our holistic security program design helps organizations to protect their employees, including C-Suite leaders, buildings, and assets against potential threats and creates a safer, more secure and resilient workplace. Our program design includes:

  • Initial consultation with ECS and logistics security experts with preventative and protective strategies for corporate and federal buildings, college campuses, hospitals and state offices

  • Facilities & Logistics Security Threat assessments of all lobby area and logistics intake points that receive and distribute (letter mail and packages, flowers, candy, etc.) that may contain potentially harmful substances

  • Letter bomb training for Security teams. (See USPS POSTER 84, USPS PUBLICATION 52)

  • Threat detection needs analysis, and recommendations for X-ray scanners and prevention technologies that detect potentially harmful items with chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or explosive (CBRNE) elements
